9 London Hotels with Balcony Views (Not Penthouses)
London is a city of iconic sights – from Big Ben and the London Eye to Tower Bridge and St. Paul’s Cathedral. No matter where you look, there’s something beautiful to see. But despite this, it’s not a place you’ll find many hotels with balconies. Most of the best London hotels with balcony views or terraces are actually penthouses – and way outside the budget of most travelers.
That’s why I decided to try and make a list of the best hotels in London that have balconies but won’t break your budget. These rooms are obviously not standard, but they are beautiful and give you great views, no matter where you choose to stay.

So if you want to enjoy those iconic sights even once you return to your room after each day of adventure exploring the city, these London hotels with balconies are perfect places to stay.
1. Holiday Inn, Camden Lock

Let’s kick off this list of hotels in London with a balcony with the Holiday Inn. This unassuming Camden hotel has balcony suites within its room portfolio. They feature beautiful balconies with views encompassing Camden Market and the locks and canals. The rooms are spotless, hitting the perfect balance between trendy and practical.
The Holiday Inn is next to Camden Market and central London attractions. The staff is delightful, always on hand, and willing to help guests. While the Holiday Inn doesn’t stand out for featuring a fancy restaurant, I can’t stress the food. Everything, from the juice to the bread, is of excellent quality and has numerous options.
2. DoubleTree by Hilton, Hyde Park

An American brand, DoubleTree is part of Hilton’s portfolio. While most customers agree that most DoubleTrees aren’t something to write home about, you can’t beat this hotel’s location next to Hyde Park.
You know how it goes: a great location usually means great views. The DoubleTree sits on the North West corner of Hyde Park. If you book the King Deluxe Room, you can enjoy a gorgeous view of the royal park and Notting Hill from the comfort of your balcony. The spacious room has floor-to-ceiling windows and a glass door that give access to the balcony and allow you to take in views as soon as you wake up.
The hotel is close to three Tube stations and only a little over a mile to Paddington station. Given the suite can only sleep two people, I think this is one of the best balcony rooms in London for a couple.
3. Marriott Hotel, County Hall

The Marriott is one of the most luxurious alternatives on my list of London hotels with a balcony. It has everything you need to have a wonderful London experience. The historic hotel sits in a privileged spot on the South Bank – it is just to the right of Westminster Bridge. With that location, it definitely makes sense that the hotel has rooms with a balcony! The Balcony Suite is an elegant room just beside the London Eye. Its private balcony is so close to the wheel that you can even see the people sitting in the pods. The balcony also offers a view of Westminster, with Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster at the forefront.
Not everything is about the views, though. The Balcony Suite features state-of-the-art technology and sleek design, with marble bathrooms, luxury bedding, and Floris toiletries.
4. Hilton, Paddington

The Hilton London is one of the top hotels in London with a balcony. Their Terrace Suite is a testament to Hilton Hotel’s aim for luxury and comfort. It features a lovely Art Deco style, contemporary amenities, and a bathroom with a separate walk-in shower and bathtub.
It has a spacious private terrace facing the bed, with magnificent views of the city of London. Few hotels can brag about their transport links as the Hilton London in Paddington. The hotel is a perfect alternative if you arrive at Heathrow Airport, sitting 15 minutes from the airport. Moreover, four Tube lines serve the area – the District, Circle, Hammersmith & City, and Bakerloo. You’re also only a footbridge walk away from Paddington station. See what I mean?
5. Residence Inn, Kensington

A member of the Marriott chain, Residence Inn is one of the hotels that excel at making guests feel at home. Their rooms are perfect for a family with kids as they are pretty large compared to most hotels in London. What I like the most about these rooms is that they are stylish and modern but don’t lose sight of practicality.
Their Premium One Bedroom Suite is spacious, featuring a kitchen, living room, bathroom, and bedroom. It also has a lovely balcony with views over all of London. The decor is mainly modern, with nice use of green hues on the walls that create a welcoming atmosphere.
The hotel sits in Kensington, making it easy for you to get to London’s top attractions and business destinations.
6. The Chamberlain Hotel, Tower Bridge

Built in 1910, the Chamberlain Hotel is a 4-star hotel set in the center of London just north of Tower Bridge. The limestone and beige brick hotel have sixty-four stunning rooms, but the cream of the crop are the Roof Terrace Rooms.
The terrace rooms make the perfect base for your stay in London, featuring a traditional style with modern touches. As the name suggests, the rooms have furnished terraces overlooking the city of London. The terrace has teak wood furniture where you can enjoy breakfast with a view or relax after a long day exploring London.
The rooms also feature a fabulous ensuite bathroom complete with hand-picked luxury toiletries and a stunning king bed that’ll make it hard to leave in the morning. Don’t worry if you can’t book a suite terrace. All hotel rooms underwent a renovation in 2015, so you’ll have a blissful experience with all the comforts and more no matter where you stay.
7. Hilton, Angel Islington

Hilton’s terrace suite on the top floor of their Islington branch is pure luxury. The 430 sq. ft room is a stylish retreat featuring a dining area, a large bathroom with a walk-in rain shower, and a lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city. Both the room and lounge have access to the private terrace, which comes with patio furniture and stunning views of London.
As for the style, the Terrace Suite boasts a sober personality. Gray is the dominant palette, although you find occasional bursts of color like the fuchsia crushed velvet sofa in the living. Guests booking the Terrace Suite also have access to the Executive Lounge, which offers complimentary breakfast, evening canapés, snacks, and drinks.
8. Apex Hotel, City of London
Apex Hotel also sits in fashionable Islington and stands as one of the most convenient alternatives for those who want direct access to the city. The hotel features 209 rooms, of which five Deluxe Rooms have a balcony with a view of Tower Bridge.
Stylistically, the rooms feature neutral colors –you can expect lots of shades of greens, mauves, and grays, plus black-and-white photographs that enliven the walls. The Deluxe Rooms boast a dreamy king-size bed, a separate living area, and a modern bathroom with a bath and walk-in shower.
The hotel has lovely touches to ensure your stay is stylish and comfortable, like adding extra fluffy bathrobes and slippers, complimentary sweet treats, and luxury Elemis toiletries. If you have the chance, snag a table at the hotel’s restaurant, The Lampery. Their adventurous take on modern British cuisine has made it a favorite among locals.
9. DoubleTree by Hilton, Docklands Riverside

When it comes to hotels in London with a balcony, this DoubleTree hotel has more rooms endowed with lovely balconies than any of its counterparts. As a general rule, some of the King Guest Rooms, King Deluxes, and Queen Guest Rooms feature balconies with city or partial river views. I highly suggest you contact the hotel in advance to ensure the room you’re booking has a balcony.
Go for the King One Bedroom Suite if you want a sure alternative. The suite has a gorgeous balcony and stunning views, perched on the hotel’s top floor. The view over the Thames is wonderful, and the stay is worth it. The suite also comes with all the comforts and luxuries. This suite features a private bedroom and a separate living area with HDTV. There’s also a spacious working area and an elegant bathroom with a bathtub and shower.
Last but not least, the hotel sits on the Docklands Riverside. If you prefer a less traditional ride, you can take the ferry that runs over to Canary Wharf. There are ferries every 15 minutes and are free to hotel guests.
So these are the best London hotels with balcony views; don’t forget that some of London’s best penthouses also have stunning balconies and terraces. Have any questions about these London hotels with balconies? Let me know in the comments!
